The 8 stages of Progression by Cataclysm-X The 8 stages of Progression by Cataclysm-X
I guess this speaks for itself...

Some portraits I made in the years from 2001 'till... well... last month!
I hope this encourages people to create the things they like, whether it's drawn from reference images or just totally made up.

Sorry for the low quality. I can't post a high res version of this thing right now because my internet connection is terribly slow since last week. And my internet provider says they'll fix it within 2 weeks. Grrr!!! :shakefist:

If you want to see an old version of a 6 year progress, check this out:
From 2002 to 2007

Take care people. Sorry if I haven't replied your messages yet (the notes about this 3gp converting included). I'll read and reply them as soon as possible. ):

If I were to put myself on your scale...I would still be around 2001 or 2002....Yeah...It's pretty sad..:D But you have a beautiful taste in art, and your style is just incredibly memorable.

yay this gives artists like myself hope! Currently I would say that my work is at the 2004 stage but I'm working hard and trying to get the 2006-2008 stage. It seems as if I have trouble takeing my time on the actual drawing proces though ^^. Most of the time I take about an hour, but I'm slowly getting better. Thanks for posting this and resurrecting my hopes of becoming better!

Woow, this is really cool! It's amazing to see your progression like this! You really are very talented.

I'd say I'm at the same stage as you were in 2003 at the moment, hehe... any advice on how to get better? Did you just draw faces all the time or did you draw other things, too?

This is quite inspirational. I just started "really" drawing this January as I took a Drawing 1 class at school and it has now become a passion of mine. My stuff is ok but not magnificent, this picture of your progression gave me hope for mine. Maybe someday I'll be as good as you are now.

Best wishes and thank you,
Jordan

Phew, that kicked my confidence level a bit higher. I've been drawing for a year now, I unexpectedly found out I had a talent. So far, I'm at stage... say, 4. So I guess another year, and I might actually start to draw like a pro.

I thank you. :D No offense, if you saw any. I'm a fourteen year old kid, and before, I had absolutely no talent in anything. I'm just always a little quicker than others getting things... again, no offense to anyone.

These are so cool! I wish I could draw like that. Personally, I thought I was good and drew quickly, but this... wow! I thought it'd be impossible to draw that much detail in 15-30 minutes, but you've proved me wrong. I take hours, to draw things and break it up into days to get small details in and redraw different parts.
