I think my love for pencils is reaching epic proportions. But what the hell: I'm loving it. SO BLAME ME.
I'm not here to show off what I've got. Truth be told I had no idea how many pencils I actually have until I opened all of the drawers and looked for every pencil can, tin, case and box to be found. To my surprise I found a lot of those cases which were either over 15 years old or barely used, but still very usable.
Most of them are kids pencils, but also got pastels, watercolours, charcoal, crayon, metallic, coloured, skintone, graphite, eraser and oil-based pencils. Also got one set from =D17rulez and derwent sketch pencils from =SheldonSands. The black pencilcase on the lower left photo shows the equipment I use daily for my grayscale drawings
So I counted them all, twice, realizing it might take a lifetime or 30 until I used them all as I got about 634 of them and still counting. *cough*
Yesterday I put them together on my spiffy drawing table, took a distance and came to the conclusion I really do have an unhealthy obsession for pencils.
Lastly...
Added this to the tutorial / resources category. If you have questions about the brands, quality and usage of pencils, feel free to ask! I would be happy to answer them all.
Though I don't use most of these pencils as much as I want to these days, I have experimented with all sorts of media in the past and therefore I know quite a lot about the subject..
I'm buying pencils over 40 years. My newest are CRETACOLOR Fine Art Graphite 160 (8H to 9B) from Austria, I like them because the soft ones work even on verry smooth surfaces like waxed paper.
Pencil don't have a minimum durability date ...... you can leave them bequeath.
That's a lot of pencils usw.
And about the pencils... well.... ummm.... stacked one on top of other, do they reach the moon?????
