My sketchbook got LOKI'D
:iconlokidlaplz:

Slightly inspired by da Vinci's work.

I am testing one of my newest sketchbooks that I bought 2 days ago, with Hiddles as my drawing subject, huzzah! \0/

He looks a bit sad here, but that will change.
EHEHEHEHEHE

1.5 hours of work so far, done with 0.3mm HB, and 0.5mm F mechanical pencils.

Drawn on 20x20cm Marpa Jansen sketchbook paper

WILL ADD COLOUR SOON :w00t:

Good work, but not amazes me, or blow my mind. When you use grids it is really easy to put facial features on right places. But have to say you made shading really well. 20 hours time to make one work. When one could draw a detailed face using max 2 hours time (without grids or tracing)... it is something I admire more. There is nothing wrong to use grids or tracing, but when you don't you will learn what means pure drawing skill. I mean seeing the proportions and angles right only using your sight is a hard thing to do. And yes I have used tricks too, but when I stopped it I understood how to draw faster and more relaxed way.

Hi Nicolien, I question for you.
As you achieve such fine detail with pencils?
In this fantastic illustration Loki, leave two pencils on it, two pencils? Why?
Different gradations of graphite, right?

Those are grids used as guides when drawing a pic. The sizes usually don't matter, I use it most of the time. I upload a pic and put a grid over it and draw the grid on a blank paper and use draw parts of the picture square by square until the picture is complete and then erase the grid afterwards. It's a hassle though.

I don't have the patience to shade like that. I've made drawings but after two minutes I'm scribbling. XD anyway, this is amazing I love it lots! Your shading is wonderful.

Such beautiful work! I'm always impressed when artists can do such delicate work, create such a smooth variance in values, with mechanical pencils.

Wonderful, dahlink!
