Oh my Asgardian Gods
Can't believe it took me so long to finish, but I'm glad it is done.
My first completed drawing of 2013, and also my first completed realism piece since October 2011 (which was the Matt Bellamy portrait).
Tom Hiddleston as Loki Laufeyson. To be really honest I like Loki because of Tom Hiddleston, not the other way around. He added so much depth and life into the character that, instead of hating him, you can actually feel the character's pain and anger and understand why he is the way he is.
Work in Progress:
When I draw a portrait, I first add a basic skintones which you can see in the Work in Progress shots. Once I added contrast to the hair, it is easier to judge how much more contrast the skin needs. Therefore the skin looks much more darker in the finished drawing.
Anyway, I hope you like it. This became one of my most precious personal drawings
Stuff used:
- 0.3mm (2H, H, HB, B, 2B) mechanical pencils
- 0.5mm (4H, 2H, H, F, HB, B, 2B, 3B) mechanical pencils
- blending done with: tissue, tortillion and 2 Q-tips.
- 1 references used (screenshot from Thor)
- Polychromos coloured pencils
- drawn on 10x20cm plain white sheet
20 hours of work
