Jude Law as himself.



People either like or hate him. Personally I think this he's just misunderstood. Though I first didn't really like him all that much, I got to appreciate him more after seeing several of his movies (= research), of course with SH being my favourite so far.


I'm trying full coloured portraits this time. Although the likeness isn't as good as my grayscale portraits yet, I'm doing my best. I'm sure it will get better someday :) after all- from experience I discovered practice makes perfect, so expect more coloured portraits soon..


For hours I tried to fix the colours with Photoshop but it's nowhere close to the real thing. Boohoo. I'm such a Photoshop n00b. :C


Drawn with Derwent Coloursoft pencils on A4 size Hahnemühle Nostalgie paper. Lost count how many hours.

Absolutely lovely!

Critique: The right side of his neck in the portrait should have extended a little bit farther and the fingers could have just a touch more realism, also, you could accentuate the space under his eyes and the dip down to his cheekbones.

But those are just little nitpicks. This is absolutely stunning!

Hi Nicolien,
I thought this was a photograph with Photoshop filter manipulation.
The depth and realism is excellent and the likeness is almost there.
Any chance we can see the reference you have used?

Beautiful drawing!

As for Jude Law, I'm not much of a fan of him, but definitely do not understand why people hate him. Also, he was rather brilliant in SH :)

I use same pencils. Damn any pencils are hard tocan. I spend hours working on scan in Photoshop too. Great job ;)

Try Adobe Lightroom, i think its an easier software to use to fix colors.

It's beautiful, and the likeness is great as well! Love the eyes, they give so much depth to the drawing that it's incredible! Great work, and looking forward to seeing more coloured portraits from you :-)!
