Here we go. What a surprise . Jake Gyllenhaal became my newest muse. He's talented, he's awesome, he's kind: a real artist. I like his small, fragile hands a lot. And his intense eyes. Very beautiful.
I've been drawing so hard on this drawing and learned myself some new techniques. This entire drawing is done by mechanical pencils only, except for the darker parts in the hair and the darker part of the shirt.

First of all I used the same technique as on my Jessica Alba drawing. I just started to draw one eye first and then I measured everything by pencil by creating light lines on the reference picture. Kinda hard to explain without an example.

Then I figured out my 2H mechanical pencil was a HB mechanical pencil, so I changed it to 2H. Bought a 4H as well for the very light parts.

I never liked to draw hair, but here I loved to do it. My secret: I turned the drawing upside down and began to draw the thin lines of the hair! I loved to do it. I know I'll work like this from now on .

When the drawing was done, I figured out I did something incredibly stupid... I dropped a drop of water on my drawing by accident... right on the eye. And his eye started to look really dark and weird. I was holding my breath! But in the end the eye looked ok again. Thank god .

So, what I used is:

4H, 2H, HB and 2B mechanical pencils

HB, 2B and 4B pencils for the hair and shirt only

2 tortillions: for the dark areas and the light areas

a kneading gum (right spelling?)

a tissue (my newest discovery)

15 - 20 hours of work
