..In loving memory of Jake..

Hey everyone,

I find it really, really hard to write this.

My best friend Jake passed away Friday December 19th. He meant everything to me. He was the best thing that ever happened in my life. And now he's gone... I can't help but to cry all the time, especially when I'm writing this.

In 10 days it's my 21st birthday. This is by far the worst birthday "present" I've ever had.

<sub>Everybody who knows me, knows how much I love my puppy Jake. Jake's an airedale terrier which I got as a present for my 18th birthday and high school diploma. I always told my family how much I loved airedale terriers. And there he was: 13 weeks old with his big puppy eyes. He was the only puppy left of a nest. Apparently nobody wanted to have him. Well... I did.


We've been through a lot. When I felt sad, he was there for me. When he was sad, I was there for him. We were the best friends in the world. And everyday when I told him I love him so much, he always hugged me back as if he wanted to say 'I love you too'.



In 2007 something terrible happened to him. Some of you may remember from the journal I wrote back then. He had a stone in his intestine and had to be removed. The vet performed an operation.
Ever since he was never the same again.


He got so scared of the vet and other people, he started to bite everyone except for 3 people (me included). Nearly no-one was safe around him.
His health got worse, his hair fell out and he was incredibly stressed.
We've tried everything to fix him, a therapist included, but nothing worked. So when I went to the vet I had to make the hardest decision I've ever made. I hated it, but it was the best thing I could do for him.



He was only 2,5 years old.</sub>
