The ever so glamorous, eccentric and insanely attractive Adam Lambert.

My final commissioned drawing is finally done! This is for ~Eel-Skin-Beatrice, who also commissioned the Elvis Presley drawing a while ago. Hope you like it love (: thank you for being so patient with me!

Thought some strong contrasts this time wouldn't harm

kinda fits the guy, doesn't it? Killed quite a lot of soft pencils too! D:

Here's the previous (and only) Work in Progress of my Adam Lambert drawing:

Whoa I'm pale!

Told ya it needed a bit more shading ;DDD

Took me about 50 hours to draw with:
- 4H, 2H, H, HB, B, 2B & 3B 0.5mm mechanical pencils
- 2 tissues, 2 tortillions, 3 Q-tips & 2 Cotton pads for blending
- A3 sized Hahnemühle sketchbook paper
- H & 6B regular pencils for equalisation of ze pencillines

And a reference image, obviously!

----- About the drawing -----

The skintones of the face were done with 4H + 2H for the lightest areas, H for shading the light areas, and HB for the shadow underneath the bangs of hair. The dark areas like the neck and eyebrows were done with 2B and 3B.

The hair... was the most fun part to do. Oh how I used to hate drawing hair, and now I'm loving it to pieces! This took me most of my time to draw, approx 25 hours (give or take). For the black parts I used the 6B regular pencil and "flattened" the shimmering with a 3B mechanical pencil. It's my best trick to make (near) black areas as dark and non-shiny as possible.

The clothes were sorta improvised, lol. The reference image showed a piece of text on top of the clothes, so it wasn't clear where the folds and shadings should have been. In the end I think I did pretty well.

The shades showed the photographer in the reflection. I thought he looked a little creepy (sorry Mr Photographer) SO I changed the guy into a girl which was supposed to look like me (with sketchpad) but doesn't.
So now it's a random blonde girl, sitting in front of Adam as she is drawing him :o)

ok, i just wanna throw my pencils down and say you're the best, I can't compete with that! Plus I'm a huge Adam Lambert fan, so this is pretty freakin amazing!!!!!!

I hope you know that this is NOT normal! Seriously! I just looks like a photo! Absolutely... I don't know if I can find the right words... it's... AMAZING! AWESOME! GORGEOUS! You are amazing! You are very, very talented... cause... I mean REALLY! I showed it my mum and if I hadn't told her she would have never realized that this was drawn! With pencils...
So yeah, in one word: WOW! Just wow.
