More detailed spoiling. omgomgomg
These are details of my Mike Portnoy collage, a drawing which required most of my time because of the little detailing of OMFGCRAZYWHYTFDIDISTARTDRAWINGTHISSHINYINSANEMONSTER drumset of Mike. *gasp*

I'm proud to say that Mike actually got to see this drawing of mine. Not in real life, hopefully I will be able to do that too someday, but at his forum where he left a very sweet comment. Funny part of the story is that several months ago he used a part of my drawing as his picture at Twitter for quite some time!
Such a pleasant surprise <3
AS FOR MY DRAWING
I'm showing 3 parts of the drawing that required most of my time to draw. The blue part of the goatee was done with Van Gogh pencils. When I began to use those colours, I was so terrified of screwing up, that it actually took me weeks to find the courage to get started with it. I was so relieved to see it really worked.
And don't get me started on the drumset! Ooph! Mike is known for fantastic musical talents and abilities, but also for the sizes of drumsets he's using on stage (and studio). His drumsets are called "Siamese Monster", "Purple Monster" and "Albino Monster" for a reason.
Each cymbal required about 1.5 to 2 hours to draw and used a lot of 2B leads to fill up the dark areas. The tomtoms and snaredrum (especially the damaged drumskin) took me about another million years to draw. Did I enjoy it? Not really. But when a drawing is finished and you are satisfied with the result, you forget all of that jibba jabba.
Still working hard on my animation. I'm working on double-triple-quad speed right now. World domination requires a lot of patience, I tell you. It's worth it (I hope).
